When you decide to leave what you have known all your life can be a great experience. It is similar to a baby taking his/her first steps because you can fall with the slightest of distractions. However, those first steps are what remind you of how you got where are, even if you took the longest way possible to get there or you just took the wrong way.Everyone leaves home for different reasons from running from problems, going to college, or just being tired of looking at the same old faces. I decided to run from the problems I had going on around me, and I ran straight into the arms of a Marine Corps recruiter (I will address the Marine Corps at another time).
I ran from a dead end job, living in the ghetto, and selling drugs. With all of the running I was doing I thought I could get far enough away from everything and it could not catch me. I got on a plane and went to Parris Island, SC (boot camp) I started running in Bridgeport, CT. The first thing I get to do in boot camp is run! I’m thinking ain’t this about some stuff.
If you decide to run from problems, just remember those problems will come with you because you have the problem in what you think.
